HOW TO FIND OUT ABOUT PLANNING APPLICATIONS IN YOUR AREA

This page gives a link to Barnet Council’s website where you can use the Council’s search facility to find details of planning applications.

The starting point is the  “Find and comment on planning applications  Search for applications, appeals and enforcements” webpage –

https://www.barnet.gov.uk/planning-and-building/planning/find-and-comment-planning-applications

From that page you can view lists of recent planning applications and also make several different kinds of searches.

You can find lists of applications received on an approximately weekly and monthly basis and by checking them regularly you can use them to keep an eye on applications in your local area (or any other area that is of interest to you).  These lists are accessed from the “find and comment” page, and  there are also lists of applications decided and lists of all current applications on the Council system. The lists are organised by Council Ward. The Wards most likely to be of interest to members of FBWRA are Friern Barnet, Whetstone, Woodhouse and Barnet Vale.

If you want to find a specific application and know what you are looking for we recommend that you use the “Basic Search “  and put the application reference (which you can find  in the  relevant list –see above) or  the relevant postcode into the search field, after “Enter a keyword, reference number, postcode or single line of an address.”

The “Map Search” facility is also worth trying – as with the other searches, access it from the “find and comment” page.
